I shall FINALLY blog about the Korean Pop Concert that occurred on Tuesday, 4th November 2008. I've delayed this long enough, because I was unable to face up to the fact that the Korean stars have left. Yes, I've been suffering from a severe case of withdrawal symptoms, as have other Singaporeans who went.
@_@ *Sniff*

Once Amanda, Tsemin and I reached the place, we went to look at the seat Wenting got for me at A36. A good seat, a clear view of the stage, near the premium seats. But I preferred to sit with them at T37 (seats my mom got for them), further from the stage. =/

(-.- Our view of the stage -.-)

Obviously, the concert didn't start on the dot at 7.30pm.

So we checked our cameras & binoculars (LOL THEY WERE SO DAMN USEFUL OKAY) and blew up those KoreanAir / LG clappers, and spied that corner where we spied Shinhwa's Junjin getting ready!

And the concert started at 8pm, with the MCs (Jewelry's Park Jung Ah, Shinhwa's Andy, YES933 FM DJ Liyi) introducing the show, sponsors' advertisments yaddayadda.... But Jung Ah is hella pretty and cute. Hahah! She was dancing to the other performers' songs throughout the show!

And Junjin kicked off the show with his uptempo number, Wa and the ballad, Those Words I love You.

Of course we saw who the next performer was lah! Hahaha. ChaeYeon performed next, with her addictive songs, Two of Us (which has the trademark NaNaNaNaNaNa chorus!) and My Love (lightsticks dance WOWOW!)
I could hear most people singing along to the NaNaNaNaNaNa chorus! So addictive.

Then came Jewelry with their huge hit One More Time and their old song, Superstar. One More Time had everyone chanting the chorus together!
If I may, I think Seo In Young arguably got the loudest cheers, due to her popularity as one half of the much-loved Ant-Witch couple on MBC's We Got Married. But JungAh got loads of cheers too! She's really pretty! Haha I think I've said that already. >.<

And then came the Singapore acts, Project Superstar 2's Carrie Yeo and Singapore-based Korean singer Lee An with one song each. Nothing much to say about them, but Carrie Yeo's voice is good! ^^

Pretty Kim Jong Wook was up next with his song Only You, made more famous as the much-loved theme song for We Got Married. (We were singing along to this btw. XD)
Too bad he didn't perform his other song, Bad Guy though... =/

V.O.S then performed Beautiful Life and Soulmate. They're even better LIVE! >.<>

Then came the idol groups, 2PM and UKISS! And the crowd of fangirls went wild, me included. DUH! We sang along to their songs too~ Hahahaha.

2PM came out first with their super-addictive and energetic number, 10 Points Out Of 10 and their ballad, Only You.

Their performance was just beyond words. Their dancing was just AMAZING. I've never been more in love with them. I'm still addicted to their songs. I've become a BIGGER fan of them now. Will post a fancam of their performance once I find it. ROFL.

Anyway, sorry for the lousy photos. -.-

Next, UKISS performed I’m Not A Kid (cuuuuute) and U&I (gotta DL this song). Whenever Kevin and Kibum came out, you could hear a surge of screams. @_@

After their performance, multilingual Alexander spoke in English! If only the other English-speaking member, Eli, spoke as well. That kid sported blonde hair, looking almost angmoh. Hahaha. I said "KID" because he's a year younger than me. Hahaha.

Shinhwa's Andy/An-Seobang performed Love Song and Propose. Looooved Love Song because of the Heart Dance! I kept getting reminded of how his 'wife' Solbi performed this song along with him. :( (Miss them on We Got Married...)

At one point in time during the concert, An-Seobang's legs were tired, and he sorta squatted for a rest. ROFL. Reminds all We Got Married fans of better times with Solbi... Too bad I didn't get a pic of that! Hahahaha.

And the last performer, Wonder Girls! We could already see them getting ready at that little corner, and got all excited! Hahahah...

You could just tell that everyone in the concert hall was anticipating them the most. Seriously. EVERYONE was singing loudly along to their infectious monster-hit songs, Nobody and Tell Me. The girls were so polite! They were the only performers who bowed before their performance...

The audience followed along when SoHee was singing that famous line, "Omona!" You could just feel the concert hall resonating as one to that one word. Amazing.

Anyway, WG's performance was THE BOMB! Their synchronisation in dance steps, pitch (albeit a little higher than usual =/) were perfect. Yoobin the rapper even had a dance segment, and the confident leader SunYe was speaking in English and getting the crowd all rara-ed up. Hahaha.

The concert ended as all of the performers gathered on stage with the MCs - typical music show style - and thanked everyone. It ended at 9.30pm, a one-and-a-half hour show. Short, but it was worth it lah. I mean, I'm already contented with all these performers here in SINGAPORE for the first Korean concert everrrrrrrrr.

What I didn't like:

I HAVE ISSUES WITH THE WAY THE ORGANISERS DISTRIBUTED THE TICKETS.

The organisers gave out premium seat tickets to their employees & families etc. And as I've already mentioned, those in the premium seats didn't seem to be as enthusiastic as those in the stands. You know, where the real fans are cheering their hearts out. -.-

Someone from coolsmurf's comments page pointed something out,
"some fans who were also waiting outside without the tickets before the concert started has the organisers (who initially told me they were not giving the tickets anymore), gave them the tickets just before the concert started? "

Where is the fairness in all of this. -.-

Ok, I understand that maybe because this is something like "testing the market" or because they were afraid that not many people would buy the tickets, but couldn't they have tried other methods?

Like, giving out a portion of their tickets to their internal publics and selling the tix to the general public. -.- Wait, who am I to be giving them advice. I'm sorry, but I can get a little defensive/sensitive when it comes to this.

On a lighter note, I really enjoyed this Kpop concert. Hopefully, this has brought more attention to Singapore as a place where Korean stars mark as one of their concert, etc, destinations.

I also hope that this concert becomes a yearly event, like the one in the US. ^^

[ If this does become a yearly event, I'm gonna be stalking them. ROFL. :P I REGRET NOT STALKING THEM THIS TIME! ARGHHHH! -.- ]

I'll never treat Marina Square and the Ritz Carlton the same way again. If anyone mentions them, I'm gonna go emo nemo memo. HAHAHAHA. -.-
